Outreach Coordinator Job Description
Summary
Reporting to the Development Director, the Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for establishing and deepening relationships with stakeholders and with coordination and planning special events and activities, which contribute to the established goals and operations of the agency.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Responsible for the planning, coordination, promotion and facilitating special events including but not limited to Big MAC Open, Red Shoe Ball, Give Kids A Hand and Highmark Healthy Walk
- Assist Development Director in cultivating and stewarding relationships with civic/community groups, churches, and professional organizations who wish to become involved by donating time and/or resources.
- Recruit and expand the number of third party fundraisers/awareness events for Ronald McDonald House.
- Identify strategic speaking opportunities (ex. United Way giving fairs) for staff and speaker’s bureau to expand our donor and volunteer base.
- Schedule and maintain communication with committee members; speakers, vendors, and volunteers
- Assist Development Director with event budget and monitoring expenditures
- Coordinate and monitor event timelines, milestones and outcomes.
- Assists in preparing a variety of publications, materials, and programs for events
- Complete special assignments and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of event planning experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Proficient Microsoft office, project management and social media skills.
- Interest, enthusiasm and affinity for non-profit organizations and working with people
Required Clearances
- Act 33 Child Clearance
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
Physical Requirements
This position requires lifting up to 20 lbs with frequent lifting/carrying of up to 10 lbs. The position also requires walking, standing and sitting.
