The Director of Development plans, directs and implements a comprehensive major gift and personal solicitation program for the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences with an emphasis on the division of Natural and Mathematical Sciences. A special focus will be on raising private gifts to support the planned construction of a science facility. He/she works in partnership with the other Directors of Development within the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences and takes direction from the Senior Director of Development for the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will identify, evaluate, cultivate and solicit prospects/donors for gifts of $50,000 or more; collaborates with staff to implement a comprehensive fund-raising program and recruit and train volunteers. In addition, she/he will provide stewardship for established endowments; prepare fund-raising plans; create strategies and timetables for special project fundraising; and hours will vary.

Bachelor's degree required; demonstrated success in direct fund-raising or equivalent background in marketing, sales, public relations or related field. Knowledge/experience with volunteer involvement and management; experience with capital project fund-raising and philanthropy.
