Lead Education Associate, Human Services Center Corporation - Turtle Creek, PA

Position: Lead Education Associate
Status: Non-Exempt, Temporary, Part-Time
Reports to: Sites Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:

  1. To supervise staff and youth involved in one of the Human Services Center Corporation’s (HSCC) after-school programs. 

Duties:

  1. Oversee the daily afternoon/evening site operations. 
  2. Provide staff support for the after-school program, including supervising youth and staff during all scheduled activities.
  3. Be the main contact with parents/families on a daily basis in the afternoon/evenings. 
  4. Implement internet-based and social skill building curriculums.
  5. Assist with oversight of diverse youth.
  6. Administer pre- and post-tests to students.
  7. Develop and implement activities for the Program.
  8. Resolve conflicts between youth and report all problems to the Sites Coordinator and/or Youth Programs Director.
  9. Assist in serving afternoon snacks and/or dinners.
  10. Provide staff support for the after-school program, including implementation of the point system.
  11. Provide limited case management to youth involved in the Program.
  12. Facilitate constant communication with guest presenters, parents, and staff of the Program.
  13. Chaperone field trips.
  14. Other duties as required.

Background:
Must have obtained high school diploma.
Must possess a personal cell phone and be willing to utilize for work purposes.
Experience working with youth.
Firm grasp of technology, including the ability to learn the application of internet-based curriculum.
Must have own transportation.
Current Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.

Flexible scheduling is required:
Academic school hours are generally Monday through Thursdays, (one site is Monday-Friday) from 3:00PM-6:30PM (a few sites are 4:00PM-7:15PM).  Anticipated number of hours worked is between 12 and 16 per week.
