Project Coordinator, Great Lakes Behavioral Research Institute - Pittsburgh, PA

The Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) is a lay-lead participant education program offered in communities throughout the US and several other countries. Participants are adults experiencing chronic health conditions such as hypertension, arthritis, heart disease, stroke, lung disease and diabetes. The program provides information and teaches practical skills on managing chronic health problems, as well as giving people the confidence and motivation they need to manage the challenges of living with a chronic health condition. The Project Coordinator is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the project including collaborative efforts among partner organizations, recruitment and retention of peer leaders and older adult participants, ensuring that the project is executed in accordance with the project proposal, work plan, budget and CDSMP model fidelity expectations. This is a contract position which is scheduled to be funded for a two year period. Additional responsibilities will include:
*Refining and further developing the project work plan within the first month of project start and maintaining as a living document to meet project outcomes and deliverables. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field and/or demonstrable Project or Program Management experience that spans the project lifecycle from initiation to closing is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong relationship building skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, along with a proficiency in creating, reading and analyzing budgets and financial reporting documents is key. A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are needed for this position will involve local travel within Allegheny County.
