Title: Residential Manager
Classification: Full Time/Exempt
Reports To: Director of Operations

Overview

The Residential Manager is critical to the day to day operations for the housing programs for Bethlehem Haven.  The position will include scheduling and supervising of the Program Assistant staff.  The Residential Manager will be responsible for the coordination of the daily operations of the residential programs.

Bethlehem Haven provides emergency shelter and transitional housing and support for women who are homeless, chemically dependent and who have mental health issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direction for the hiring, training and supervision of residential program staff.
  • Prepare and update staff coverage for all shifts for the residential programs, insuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Constant communication of staff coverage to all levels of residential program staff including Service Coordinators, Clinical Director and the Director of Operations using both paper and electronic formats.
  • Monitor staff scheduling according to fiscal guidelines, employee status and budgetary constraints of Bethlehem Haven.
  • Monitor and coordinate the purchase, delivery and storage of all supplies on a monthly basis in accordance with the residential program budgets.
  • Supervise the assignment and rotation of residential program chores and responsibilities for the residents along with weekly room inspections.
  • Coordinate the instruction of the staff and residents in the proper handling and use of cleaning materials along with the Health Department requirements for the safe handling, preparation and storage of food.
  • Maintain all licensing and certifications for the residential programs insuring compliance for all requirements.
  • Work cooperatively with the other Bethlehem Haven staff to develop policies and procedures for the residential programs.
  • Along with coordinating with the Development and Volunteer Coordinator the scheduling of evening and weekend meal coverage when appropriate for the residential programs.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled staff and program meetings and supervision.
  • Maintain appropriate communication in the program logs.
  • Complete all scheduled reports or as requested for the residential programs.
  • Maintain and report any maintenance needs or repairs to the Facilities Manager.
  • Provide coverage for on-call rotation for the residential programs for crisis intervention.
  • Carry out any and all functions of residential program staff when necessary.
  • Provide oversight and assistance when Bethlehem Haven is responsible to the Cold Weather Shelter services.  
  • Ability to represent and speak about the programs of Bethlehem Haven to other agencies and organizations as assigned.
  • Work with Director of Operations to arrange activities and trainings beneficial to residents.
  • Work with student interns to provide benefit to residents and a learning experience for the student.
  • Collect necessary data, outcomes, and stories for recording and to pass on to Development Department.
  • Develop a “Continuum of Care” binder of agencies that benefit the mission of Bethlehem Haven in collaboration with Associate and Clinical Director.
  • Collect and record all program service fees and/or rent from the residents if appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field along with three or more years experience with residential programming and supervision of staff for homeless, chemically dependent and/or mentally ill clients.
  • A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to safely drive a 7 passenger van.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills a plus.
  • Able to obtain Pennsylvania criminal record clearance.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
  • Organized, self-directed and flexible with problem-solving abilities.
